A lot of people ask me what do I plan to do with food. I have decided to mail myself food the whole way. One of the tougher things to figure out with this hike is the food and care packages. Planning out where to mail my food where it won’t take me to far off the trail since I am on a strict schedule. I chose to mail myself food so I can have what I want to eat and not have to take chances on what I might find in some of the very small stores along the trail. (A lot of people prefer to buy along the way and I may still decide to buy in some of the bigger towns) You can click on the link to see where my resupply locations will be.
As you can imagine, I will burn a lot of calories hiking many miles every single day. I plan to eat around 4,000 calories each day. Below is a current list of some of the things I will be eating over the next 4-5 month.
