Many people have asked me who I am hiking with and they are surprised every time I tell them I am going solo. While it would be fun to hike with someone else I know, I am on a pretty strict schedule and I don’t want to have to worry about someone else having to be left behind if something happened or the same if something happens to me.
There are many people who will be attempting the PCT this year and I know there is always someone not to far off if something happens. Plus its a great chance to meet new people and hear the reasons they are hiking the trail and their stories. While hiking two Washington sections of the PCT over the past two years testing gear, I met many people with some amazing stories. One of those people who had a big impact on me was “Journal” from Victoria, BC. If you get a chance read his story.
