Day 3-4: Hiking at night & Cowboy Camping

Day 3: Mile 34 – 52   (18 miles)

Woke up this morning and headed into Mt Laguna which is a small community of only 40 residents. I bought some inserts for my hiking shoes at Outfitters which might help me out in the long run. They had people spreading out all their gear and having employees tell them what stuff they don’d need and what to mail back home. Spent some time at the lodge, buying some snacks and eating lunch. Planning out where to mail my food where it won’t take me to far off the trail since I am on a strict schedule. I chose to mail myself food so I can have what I want to eat and not have to take chances on what I might find in some of the very small stores along the trail. (A lot of people prefer to buy along the way and I may still decide to buy in some of the bigger towns) You can click on the link to see where my resupply locations will be.  Continue reading
